Privacy policy

The short version
ComfortFiles is built so that there is almost nothing to write a privacy policy about. The app collects no data. The website keeps only aggregate, cookie-free statistics.
The ComfortFiles app
- No data collection. The app has no telemetry, no analytics, no crash reporting, and no account system. Your files and your activity never leave your Mac.
- Full Disk Access stays local. If you grant Full Disk Access, it is used solely so the app can show you your own files. Nothing is read for any other purpose and nothing is transmitted.
- Updates. When automatic updates ship, the app will periodically fetch a version file from our server. That request contains no personal data.
The website
- We use cookie-free, aggregate web analytics (page views, referrers). No cookies are set, no visitors are identified, and no data is shared with advertisers. That is why you see no cookie banner here.
- Standard server logs (IP address, request path) are kept briefly by our hosting provider for security and abuse prevention.
If you email [email protected], we keep the correspondence to answer you and improve the product. We never sell or share your address.
Payments
When paid licenses launch, checkout will be handled by a payment provider acting as the merchant of record. This policy will be updated with the specifics before any payment is taken.
